ABOUT
The Europe India Centre for Business and Industry (EICBI) is an independent, nonpartisan organization that promotes business opportunities across various sectors between India and Europe. EICBI was established to create awareness among Indian companies about the vast opportunities available in the European markets and likewise, to introduce European businesses to the immense potential within India. EICBI’s activities are also supported by Sivaleen Foundation for Developed India, a Section 8 organization based in India, which holds 80G and 12A certifications under the Indian Income Tax Act, enabling it to undertake developmental and social impact initiatives.

HISTORY
The European India Centre for Business and Industry (EICBI) traces its roots to the UK entity British South India Council of Commerce (BSICC), co-founded by Sujit Nair along with other leaders, and India based Sivaleen Inc., owned by Sujit Nair. These organisations were established to promote trade and investment opportunities between the southern states of India and the United Kingdom.

Beginning in 2011, BSICC, in partnership with India-based Sivaleen Inc., organised a series of high-level engagements with UK stakeholders aimed at strengthening regional cooperation between the UK and Southern states of India.

Building on this strong foundation, and in the post-Brexit landscape, Sujit Nair went on to establish EICBI to expand the scope of engagement beyond Southern India to encompass the whole of India and mainland Europe. EICBI therefore builds upon the legacy and achievements of BSICC and Sivaleen Inc., evolving their work into a broader, integrated platform dedicated to fostering India–Europe business, policy, and diplomatic collaboration.

MISSION
EICBI’s mission is to promote trade, investment, and partnership opportunities between India and the Europe, and to provide a credible platform for companies, entrepreneurs, and policymakers who wish to engage with the India–Europe trade and investment ecosystem.

Led by seasoned professionals, the organisation supports companies in expanding and flourishing across these regions by providing on-ground insights, strategic connections, and institutional linkages.

Despite operating with modest resources, EICBI has demonstrated resilience and impact through its sustained initiatives. Recognising the diversity and global significance of both India and Europe, the organization strives to:

  • Encourage Europe to look beyond perceived limitations of India and focus on shared opportunities for progress.

  • Inspire a new generation of Indians to gain a more realistic and nuanced understanding of Europe, facilitating deeper collaboration and mutual respect.

Through storytelling, diplomacy, and advocacy, EICBI continues to serve as a bridge of understanding and cooperation between these two dynamic regions.

OBJECTIVES

EICBI focuses on achieving its mission through the following objectives:

  • Organise sector-specific summits across the EU, UK, and India to showcase opportunities in key industries.

  • Facilitate business and investment flows from India to the Europe by engaging with relevant government and industry stakeholders.

  • Support European investments into India by collaborating with state governments and industry bodies.

  • Assist European companies in implementing and nurturing their projects in India.

  • Assist Indian companies in implementing and expanding their projects in the Europe.

  • Establish and manage an EU–India Parliamentary Working Group, fostering regular dialogue among elected representatives from both regions.
