'EUIndia60 Campaign"

To commemorate the 60 years of establishment of diplomatic relations between India and the European Union (EU) in the year 2022, Europe India Centre for Business & Industry (EICBI), supported by EU India Association and managed by Sivaleen Foundation for Developed India (SFDI), is organising a series of activities in 2022 under the campaign #EUIndia60.

These activities will provide insights on how the relationship between the EU and India has evolved considerably over the last 60 years and will also focus on views from the next generation of leaders in the EU India corridor about their thoughts on the future of EU India relations.

As the UK was the member state of the EU for the vast majority of the 60 years of Diplomatic relations between India and the EU, the EuIndia60 campaign will also focus on UK’s contribution to the EU India relationship over the past years.

EUIndia60 Legends

One of the activities planned during the campaign is a coffee-table book titled EuIndia60 Legends, which will look at the 60 leaders (Alive and Deceased) who have shaped EU India relations over the past 60 years. The coffee table book is expected to be released at the European Parliament in Brussels in 2022.

Around 120 EuropeIndia40 leaders from the 2019 class, 2020 class and 2021 class will play a major role in choosing EuIndia60 legends. EuropeIndia40 leaders will submit their list of preferred nominees and rank them according to their preferences. Then, the EICBI team will collate this information and in consultation with the EUIndia60 committee, will choose EUIndia60 legends. EUIndia60 Legends list is expected to include Presidents, Prime Ministers, Bureaucrats and other stakeholders who have played a role in building EU India relationship over the past 60 years.

EUIndia60 Collective

EUIndia60 Collectives will be chosen by around 120 EuropeIndia40 leaders from the 2019 class, 2020 class, and 2021 class. EuropeIndia40 leaders will submit their list of preferred organisations and rank them according to their preferences. Events

Series of Offline and Online summits will focus on promoting trade and relations between India and the EU.

Over the last 10 years, EICBI and our associate organisations, have organised 22 summits at the British Parliament in London and 2 summits at the European Parliament in Brussels whereby EICBI & its delivery partners have engaged more than 3240 delegates from 2190 companies. These summits have provided an opportunity for British MPs, European MEPs and Indian lawmakers to not only get to know each other but also engage in discussions with companies that are planning to expand into these regions.

As part of the EuropeIndia40 VIEWS Campaign, a number of virtual summits involving Members of European Parliament, Members of Indian Parliament, Members of British Parliament alongside EuropeIndia40 leaders were held so as to understand the view of the current generation of leaders in the EU India/ UK India corridor and next generation of EuropeIndia40 leaders.
