EICBI's 2017 year in Review

Updated: Nov 29, 2024

2017 was an interesting year for us at Europe India Centre of Business and Industry and Sivaleen Inc, as we focused more on promoting sector specific opportunities . This year also helped us to connect more small businesses in the UK-India corridor compared to our work in previous years. We also introduced a strategic partnership programme whereby businesses which come on board as strategic partners benefit from our network and expertise, thereby providing them with an opportunity to connect with more businesses in the UK-India corridor.

During the course of this year, we organized 4 summits at the British Parliament. The first summit of the year was the UK-Tamil Nadu/Puducherry Business Meet 2017 which was held on 13th July so as to promote business activity and partnerships between UK companies and Indian companies, particular among those who have business activity in Tamil Nadu/Puducherry. This was followed by the India Manufacturing Summit 2017 on 18th July, aimed to establish an understanding of major challenges and opportunities in the manufacturing sector for companies in India. India Healthcare Summit 2017 was held on 12th September and discussions during the summits focused on opportunities that are available in the UK-Indian healthcare corridor, role of medical apps in health care reforms, necessity of developing world class healthcare in tier 2 and 3 cities in India, innovations in healthcare which can help healthcare providers to optimize their resources, improving patient outcome and experience, benefits of Ayurveda and ethical sustainable healthcare. On 14th November, India Technology Summit 2017 was held so as to establish an understanding of the major technological challenges and opportunities in India and the UK, and to connect and enable people, companies and communities to work together. About 120 technology companies working in the area of Internet of Things, Artificial intelligence, Big data, Fintech, Electronic Systems, Communications, Cyber Security & Retail Technology attended the summit. Around 28 speakers shared their expertise with the delegates, who also had a chance to have productive discussion with speakers.

During the course of these 4 summits, 82 experts from manufacturing, healthcare, technology and other sectors shared their expertise with about 470 delegates who attended.
